Art Barn and Wood Shop

The Art Barn sits on the foundation of one of the original barns of St. Bernard's School from the early days of the last century. The barn and other farm buildings on the campus were destroyed by a fire set by an arsonist the day after the school's founder, Reverend Thomas Conover, died in 1943. Tradition has it that the following winter was so cold that the boys at St. Bernard's cut down the remaining beams of the barn and used them for firewood. The building houses the Middle School art classroom and the woodshop.
Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey. Each of the three school divisions provides a vigorous, meaningful and age-appropriate curriculum, and all students benefit from the environmental learning opportunities that exist on our 208-acre campus.
